My Wife and I completed our home, in late 2016. Part of the design included a feature stone fireplace, a stone retaining wall behind our pool and various stone pillars to complement the front balcony and alfresco. Steve ‘Tui’ Toohill was tasked to build these features.

Taking part in the build, I had the opportunity to watch ‘Tui’ create these features. His work is incredible. Intricate, thorough and professional throughout the project, Tui has created a talking point with every guest through our home. The amount of people that have stopped to take pictures of these features is incredible.

Tui’s work is art.

We are so thankful to have such an amazing home and that, in part, is thanks to Tui. We would recommend him to any client in the future.

It was my great pleasure to have Steven Toohill from Mimosa Rocks Landscapes working in Lamington National Park in preparation for the centenary of Lamington Park in July 2015.
Steve built two very high quality stone monuments for the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service and delivered over and above my expectations. His stone masonry skills are of the highest standard that I've seen which matches his professional attitude and business.
 
Steve immersed himself in the park for several weeks, walking over 5 km return some days with a wheel barrow and tools out to the old Forestry camp, just as the men would have done when they built the walking tracks in the 1930s and 40s.
In a relatively brief period Steve developed a real connection with the park rangers and Lamington itself, which is reflected in his quality work which will last the next hundred years.

Early in 2014 I purchased a home in Lennox Head which required external landscaping. I interviewed various contractors and settled on a proposal from Steve. As I was returning to Sydney I needed a contractor who could complete the work unsupervised and my assessment of Steve was correct, he completed the work on time and on budget and certainly exceeded my expectations.

As Steve is a Qualified and Licensed Stone Mason and also trained to build wood fired Kilns and Ovens I contracted Steve to build my Wood Fired Pizza oven. Steve constructed the base of the oven and the oven itself with great skill and in accordance with Best Practice for such a structure.

I use the oven three or four times a week and have found it easy to light, get to the required cooking temperature. It does not matter if I am baking bread, roasting beef, lamb, pork or making pizza the oven is excellent and our first choice when entertaining.

I have seen many examples of Steve’s work and have no hesitation in recommending Steve as a skilled landscaper, builder of rock walls, BBQ’s and outdoor wood fired ovens. I must also advise that Steve was pleasant, professional, hard working and easy to get on with, rare these days with many contractors. If you have any doubts about contracting Steve for work, give him the job anyway, he will not let you down.
